Insurance of foreigners, property and other non-life insurance

After obtaining temporary residence, foreigners are obliged by law to take out and have health insurance for the duration of their temporary stay. In Slovakia, we have 2 types of insurance for foreigners: public or commercial insurance .

Public health insurance is mandatory for foreigners under the following conditions:
• you are a foreigner who is self-employed on the territory of the Slovak Republic based on trade (SZČO) and has a temporary residence
• you are the child of a foreigner whose at least one parent is publicly insured in Slovakia
• you are a foreigner employed in Slovakia who has an income equal to at least the minimum wage
• you are a foreign student studying at a school in the Slovak Republic on the basis of an international agreement
• and other.

Commercial health insurance is suitable if:
• you have been granted a temporary residence permit for the purpose of doing business as an executive of an s.r.o. company
• you are the child of a foreigner and you obtain temporary residence for the purpose of family reunification of the manager of the limited liability company
• you are students from countries outside the European Union,
• you are coming to Slovakia as a tourist,
• you are applying for a visa,
• and other.
